Beet water for red coloring

You can add more red to any chip or cracker by grating 1/4 cup of red beet, and then boil it for a minute in 2 to 3 cups of water (depending on how dark and intense a color you want).

Let the water cool down before you add it to crackers.  Save the extra water for other cooking or baking recipes.

You can add the grated beet to the chips or crackers.  The only downside to that is they’ll take loner to bake.

About Alice

I've milled and baked with whole grains for many years, because whole grains are delicious, and white flour is missing the nutrition that protects you from cancer, stroke, heart disease, diabetes and many other diseases. Plus it's a good emergency food.
